Max
96W
Adapter rating
The brick’s labeled watts. This is the EV-style speed tier — Slow, Normal, Fast, Ultra, or Unknown. Audio follows Max only.
Two beats · not a SOC dashboard
ChargeFX is a macOS menu-bar utility. Speed-tier audio follows adapter rating. The HUD shows Max and live Draw so you are never guessing which number made the sound.
01
No attach-click. ChargeFX does not celebrate the magnet. It waits for the adapter rating the Mac already knows.
02
Slow, Normal, Fast, Ultra, or Unknown. The tone is the brick’s labeled watts — the EV-charger idea — not whatever Draw is doing this second.
03
Max is the rating. Draw is live watts. Both stay in the menu bar if you mute audio. Nothing important is sound-only.
If Draw is 22W, the brick is not Slow. If the brick is rated 96W, the tier is still Ultra. Live draw falls as the battery fills. Rating does not. That is why the tone stays put and the HUD shows both numbers.

Draw
22W
What the Mac is taking right now. It can sit far below Max. Draw never retunes the pack. If Draw is 22W, a 96W brick is still Ultra.
